Home Room Parents
What is a Home Room Parent?
Home Room Parents work closely with the Homeroom Parent Coordinator throughout the year to send class emails, plan class parties, and support Simis teachers.
Typically we limit leadership to two (2) HRPs per classroom, however we encourage all caregivers to get involved and support their student's teacher and classroom.
Some Home Room Parent responsibilities:
- Organize class parties.
- Organize class gift collections for teacher birthdays, holidays, teacher appreciation and end-of-year.
- Answer inquiries from parents to the best of your ability.
- Coordinate class play dates, which are optional but encouraged.
If you're interested in becoming a HRP, complete this form.
If you are selected, you will be asked to attend a brief orientation with our HRP Coordinator and meet (or email) with your student's teacher to determine how best to support the class.
Being a Home Room Parent is a huge support to the teachers, but please remember that being HRP does not guarantee you will be able to attend each classroom event. Opportunities to volunteer will be offered fairly to all parents in the classroom.
Thank you for offering your support!
If you're selected for the role, find additional resources here.
