Want to help in the garden? The first step is to register as a volunteer with the district.
Then be sure to sign up as a Simis DIGGS volunteer too.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Class-Based Lesson Team:
The primary role of a DIGGS volunteer is to be part of a classroom team that helps lead short, weekly lessons in the garden. Share the responsibility of leading lessons with other volunteers in your child's class - or a class that fits your schedule - to help them experience a multi-week, garden-themed experience. Learn more about the lessons here.
Garden Maintenance Team:
Our garden maintenance team helps keep the gardens running! Help keep the beds weed-free, the flowers watered and generally keep an eye on the overall health of the garden.
Curriculum Team:
Help prepare weekly lesson materials for our Lesson Leaders, making sure that all materials are ready and waiting for the next week. Our lessons are closely aligned with Simis's IB principles and work within AZ Science Standards as much as possible. We welcome help in continuing to reflect on and refine our activities.
